MS to buy Web site tool maker

Microsoft added another piece to its Internet armoury when it agreed to buy Web site management tool maker NetCarta today.

Microsoft will pay $20 million to NetCarta's parent CMG Information Services to get access to NetCarta's WebMapper suite of tools for authoring and monitoring activity on Web sites. NetCarta was due to announce version 2.0 of WebMapper tomorrow.
