MSI recently announced a AMD-based gaming notebook, the 17-inch MSI GX733. The new laptop has energy-saving features that can help you play green.

MSI added their ECO Engine power management system -- a unique power-saving function by MSI Notebook that extends your battery's running time as you're performing different tasks on the laptop. You can switch between five different modes, including Gaming mode, Movie mode, Presentation mode, Office mode, and Turbo Battery mode, to minimize the battery consumption.

The GX733 also comes with something called Turbo Drive Engine Technology, which gives you an extra boost in the speed of your CPU. When your laptop is plugged into a power outlet, simply touch the turbo button, and the Turbo Drive Engine Technology will step in and increase your CPU's speed.

The notebook uses the newest AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor, has 2 GB of RAM, up to 500 GB hard drive, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD4670 graphics. It also has a 2.0-megapixel webcam and optional Bluetooth.

The laptop has a HDMI output connector which enables 5 Gbps data transfers, but also offers high-definition video and digital audio with up to 1080p resolution.

You won't necessarily have to lug around your fancy speakers if you're gaming on the go. The GX733 has HD sound with four speakers ad an integrated subwoofer.

Release date and pricing is still unknown, but we'll keep you posted with any updates. Want to know more about the GX733? Check out the full press release, complete with spec sheet.
