MSI has just announced the 17-inch CX705MX laptop computer, featuring a simple but lightweight design, and some powerful specs within that cross-hatched casing.

Powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the CX705MX notebook isn't too heavy for its size, weighing in at 6.6 pounds. If you're willing to lug that around, it should be comfortable when in use with the integration of a Chiclet keyboard. MSI promises "fewer typos" with this keyboard, which could be true, but sometimes that really just depends on the user.

A real treat while traveling would be watching movies on that 17.3-inch backlit LED display, sporting a 16:9 ratio. Not to mention that the CX705MX includes an ATI Radeon HD 545V discrete graphics card, and if you can skip the headphones, the MSI laptop hosts dual 2-watt speakers and a subwoofer in the base.

Running on Windows 7 Home Premium, buyers can select up to 500GB for hard drive capacity. MSI has implemented several connectivity options, including HDMI, VGA, USB, Ethernet and a 4-in-1 card reader.

However, pricing and a release timeline hasn't been announced yet, so we're just going to have to wait a little longer on this one.
