MySpace on Monday will unveil a targeted ad platform called MyAds, a beta designed to enable smaller advertisers to use its HyperTargeting technology.

HyperTargeting is the MySpace platform used by its larger advertisers. With MyAds, MySpace is trying to tap into smaller advertisers that can be used to diversify its base of customers. MySpace touted the MyAds as a way to "democratize online advertising," but it could be seen as a nice way to broaden its base.

Among some of the core details:

  • MyAds allows a cost for click with a minimum of 25 cents and a budget of $25 with start and end dates;
  • Roughly 3,500 advertisers--mostly small businesses--have signed up since the beta opened;
  • Ad spends can go up to $10,000;
  • MyAds comes with a dashboard for ROI monitoring.
