Kuala Lumpur, Feb 25 (Asia Pulse) - MyWeb Inc.com, the sole provider of Malaysia's television-based Internet access is extending its international reach to Thailand via its San Francisco operations.

In a statement today, the MSC-status MyWeb said it has formed a strategic alliance with Asia Infonet, a subsidiary of Telecom Holdings, the Internet arm of Telecom Asia, one of Thailand's biggest private fixed line operators.

The alliance would result in a localised MyWeb portal as well as television-based Internet access for the Thai public, similar to what is available in Malaysia. MyWeb customers can access the Internet though their TV sets via set-top boxes. TV sets are connected to the Internet via a remote control or a wireless keyboard.

Internet access of the NASDAQ-listed MyWeb, is available in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. The company sees Indonesia, the Philippines, India, the Middle East and Latin America as its potential future markets in the next two years.
