Netscape this afternoon revealed its intra-net hand at a simultaneous London and New York press conference. CEO James Barksdale was here while senior VP of technology Marc Andreessen was on the other side of the Atlantic to tout the firm's latest client-server products.

The intra-net client is Communicator, which will fold in the forthcoming Navigator 4.0 along with the Messenger mail, Conference collaboration software, Composer HTML authoring tools and Collabra discussion software. A Professional Edition adds calendaring and administration functions.

The server part of the equation is Netscape SuiteSpot 3.0 which covers ten servers for corporate intra-net development. The new SuiteSpot adds Messaging Server 3.0, Collabra Server 3.0, Enterprise Server 3.0, Proxy Server 2.5, Calendar Server 1.0 and Media Server 1.0. The new servers supplement the recently released Directory, Certificate and Catalogue servers and LiveWire Pro development environment products.

Communicator and SuiteSpot 3.0 will be available in the first three months of 1997. Pricing is to be announced.
