I've made several changes and additions on the nettop system over the past few days:
- Moblin: There is a new Beta available, and it includes significant fixes and enhancements.
- SimplyMEPIS 8.0.06: As usual, installing this was dead easy, and it works just great. If you aren't a fan of Ubuntu and its derivatives, MEPIS is an excellent alternative.
- Linux Mint 7 "Gloria": Again, installing it was dead easy, it looks and works great. If you are a fan of Ubuntu and its derivatives, and you want a distribution with most of the best add-ons already installed, you definitely need to look at Linux Mint.
- Ubuntu (including the Netbook Remix): A comment to my recent posting about UNR on an Eee PC led me to installing the "ubuntu-restricted-extras" package, to get a number of useful add-ons and plug-ins all installed at once. Good stuff.
So, as it stands now, Ant multi-boots the following:
- Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" - Mandriva One 2009.1 (Spring) - openSuSE 11.1 - Fedora 11 "Leonidas" - Moblin 2.0 Beta - Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix - Linux Mint 7 "Gloria" - SimplyMEPIS 8.0.06
