Schneider Electric is launching a new online energy monitoring application for facility managers, operations types or anyone else who needs better insight into the power consumption of a given building -- even when they're not actually IN the building.

The new Web application is called EnergyView Online, and it picks up information from a building's new or existing energy meters to create a dashboard of energy usage statistics. (A list of the meters supported is on the last page of the product brochure.)

The application helps verify recorded consumption against energy bills, make carbon dioxide emissions calculations and come up with targets, test the impact of shifting power loads around, or set up alarm thresholds so that someone is alerted in the presence of certain conditions. The application supports mobile access from devices ranging from BlackBerrys to iPhones.
