News Burst: Is Microsoft a collaborator?

French accuse Microsoft of cooperating with US security

The French intelligence agency, Strategic Affairs Delegation (DAS), suspects that Microsoft has collaborated with US security agents to develop software for spying on global communications, according to press reports.

French news service Le Monde du Renseignement (Intelligence Online) reports that a confidential paper produced by DAS, the intelligence arm of the French Defence Ministry, implicates Microsoft for developing software to enable the NSA (National Security Agency) to carry out international surveillance.
