News Burst: Net stocks surge on AOL-Netscape talks
Internet-related stocks got a boost at midday on Monday after AOL and Netscape said that the companies were in merger talks.

The Nasdaq rose 45 to 1,974 and the @Net added 14 to 499. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 152 to 9,312. Meanwhile, shares of Diamond Multimedia Systems Inc. rose 1 3/32 to 6 1/8, or 21 percent, Monday after the company said it shipped its Rio PMP300 portable digital music player.
