Apparently some other companies decided to release products on National iPad Day as well, namely we finally got a real and official photo of the Nexus One desktop dock.

While we've only had hearsay and sketches so far, it's officially available now for purchase from Google for $45, either by itself or bundled with the Nexus One.

Along with the basic dock function as serving as a charging station, it does include a 3.5mm-to-RCA audio cable, allowing users to hook up the dock to a stereo system and use external (and better) speakers to play songs from the Nexus One. (Not just some speakers specially made for a particular smartphone.)

Other nifty features include displaying photo slideshows and setting the Nexus One up as a clock on your nightstand. When dropped into the dock, the Clock app automatically launches, and along with just displaying time, users can set alarms and also dim the screen's brightness to his or her liking.
