On Oracle's earnings conference call CEO Larry Ellison said the company displaced Red Hat for Linux support at Yahoo.

The truth is a bit more nuanced.

Yahoo said it is using both Oracle and Red Hat for Linux support. Stephen Shankland reports:

Red Hat and Yahoo both said that Red Hat hasn't been kicked out of the account.
"Our current infrastructure leverages both Red Hat and Oracle Linux products," Laurie Mann, Yahoo's vice president of engineering, said in a statement. And Red Hat spokeswoman Leigh Day added, "Red Hat and Yahoo continue to enjoy a fruitful relationship."

For the record let's amend Ellison's original quote so it's completely factual.

"Oracle has displaced joined Red Hat at Yahoo and numerous other customer sites as their Linux support supplier."

The quote isn't as sexy as the original version, but it is more accurate.
