IntranetWare for Small Business is Novell's move into the developing small-to-medium enterprise (SME) Internet/intranet market, a market not well served by easy to install and price competitive networking solutions. Novell claims installation time has been reduced to less than 30 minutes and incorporates the Novell Easy Administration Tool (NEAT), which offers a basic interface for creating, deleting and modifying users, groups, applications and printers on the network.

The package combines single-site Novell Directory Services (NDS) support with the ManageWise network management suite, a Web browser, and the GroupWise 5.0 e-mail, scheduling, document management and a workflow utility.

Jacqui Forrest, Novell's UK sales and marketing development manager referred to the product as a "one-size-fits-all approach to networking. This product empowers people with little technology experience."

List prices start at £595 + VAT for a server plus a five-user license. The list price for a one user add-on license is £45 + VAT. Upgrades for Novell and non-Novell operating systems are also available, with prices starting at £3330 for a five-user upgrade.

Novell can be contacted by telephone on 01344-724000.
