SINGAPORE--Novell Inc today announced that it will roll out NetWare 6, its new network operating system (NOS), tomorrow.

According to Lee Wai Hoong, Novell’s general manager (Singapore and Indonesia), the company hopes to expand its customer base with this new software, which includes special functions--such as user administration, file storage and printer management--for connecting computers and devices into a network.

Commenting on the difference between NetWare 6 and other NOSs, Rob Seely, NetWare 6 product manager, said that it can be deployed easily in any existing network and works well with various client operating systems. Also, using the Internet and standard technology, NetWare 6 users can get in touch anywhere, any place and on any devices.

The product launch will be in conjunction with the opening of the Novell one Net Summit, a one-day event that showcases various Novell business solutions targeted at Singapore customers. The event will be held at Grand Hyatt Singapore from 8.30 am tomorrow. Similar one Net Summits will be held in Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong in September and October.
