NRMA has hired John Hanna to replace former chief information officer (CIO) Craig Gibbons, who left the motoring services organisation at the end of last year.
Hanna began in February, company spokesperson Peter Khoury said. Khoury could not at the time say where Hanna had previously been employed.
After five years with the company, former CIO Gibbons told MIS Australia at the end of October that it was "time for a change".
"I'm going to take a sabbatical," he said. "I've been on the go for about eight years straight so feel that a couple of months off are probably deserved."
In other news, NRMA subsidiary Thrifty yesterday advertised for a head of information and communications technology role.
The role is structured into operations, service support and change management, according to the advertisement. "You will be responsible for payroll costs of roughly $900k and capital and operations expenditure of $1 million," it said.
NRMA said that the role had already existed within Thrifty. An acting head had been appointed from the NRMA group until the company could advertise for a permanent role.
At the time of publication, NRMA could not confirm who had left the company before the acting head had been appointed.
