Content management specialist Excalibur Technologies has reported increased revenue and narrower overall losses for the third quarter 2000.

The company, founded in 1980, develops software for indexing, managing and accessing multimedia content. Total revenue for Q3 was $12.3m, an increase of 47 per cent over the same quarter last year. Net losses for the quarter were $0.4m compared to a loss of $1m twelve months ago. Sales of the company's flagship products, RetrievalWare and Screening Room, increased by 51 per cent and Excalibur launched its first software product for managing video content. The company hopes to finalise a deal by the end of the year which will see it set up a new business in partnership with Intel's Interactive Services Division to take advantage of the growth in online media services.
