Put Amazon Alexa on your wrist with the CoWatch
The CoWatch with Amazon Alexa
Amazon recently determined that Alexa, the technology behind the Echo, would be good in a mobile format. Having tested the Amazon Tap, I can attest to how powerful this format can be. Mobility is also behind the CoWatch, a smartwatch integrated with Amazon Alexa.
The CoWatch is being funded through an Indiegogo campaign. Early backers can reserve a CoWatch for $159 making it an affordable smartwatch.
The watch has an attractive round face, and should fully integrate Alexa technology. It has typical smartwatch hardware, including:
- Dual-core processor
- 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash
- Super-AMOLED display, 400x400
- Steel and ceramic body
- Heart rate sensor, vibration motor
- Water resistant
- 32 hour always on battery
- Cronologics OS
- Amazon Alexa integration
- Bluetooth audio
- Connectivity with iOS 9 and Android 5
Choosing to power the CoWatch with Amazon Alexa was a good move given the capability of that platform. This will bring not only the ability to query and command the watch by voice, it will allow it to handle smart home functionality that Amazon is fleshing out in the Alexa platform. You'll be able to control smart home appliances right from the wrist by speaking into the CoWatch.

The company behind the CoWatch expects to start shipping the first units in June of this year. The watch will be available in silver and black.
