Samsung Mobile Display is looking to outshine your smartphone's screen when they start mass producing the "world's first" AMOLED panels with integrated touch function next month.

What's so special about these screens? Referred to as "on-cell" technology, Samsung incorporated a 0.001-mm touch sensor in between the bottom polarizer film and an AMOLED substrate (mirror display) for the first time, eliminating the touchscreen glass cover and delivering brighter and crisper images than an LCD screen.

The 3.3-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen will begin rolling out in March. What kind of effect do you think this will have on other gadgets?
