Samsung's recently revealed flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S5, will be available to order in the United Kingdom from 28 March.

Formally launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, last month and at a concurrent event in the U.S., Samsung's flagship phone has a slightly larger screen than its predecessor, sporting a 5.1-inch high-definition 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 2.5GHz quad-core processor and an improved 16-megapixel camera.

The round-corner casing has stayed the same, being wrapped in plastic, but the Samsung Galaxy S5 does come in black, blue, white, and bronze.

Not to be outdone by Apple's biometric scanner, Samsung's S5 also comes with a fingerprint scanner integrated within the home button and a heart rate sensor -- a testament to Samsung's recent push within the health industry through the smartphone as well as the Gear 2 and Gear Fit.

The South Korean firm has released developer kits for these gadgets, in the hope that "an ecosystem which will ultimately provide users with an integrated and more comprehensive view of their well being" will be established, according to the firm's executives.

The new smartphone will arrive in the U.K. in roughly two weeks, and will hit stores worldwide on 11 April. British fans are able to register their interest, keep up-to-date via email and pre-order the mobile gadget with selected retailers through Samsung's U.K. website, although it is worth noting that no price has yet been announced.

A number of U.K. networks have confirmed they will sell Samsung's flagship smartphone on both 3G and 4G networks, handy considering many cities in the U.K. are yet to establish reliable 4G networks. Among the retailers offering the phone will be EE, Vodafone, and Phones 4U -- naturally, Samsung stores will also sell the S5.
