Change of focus brings it in conflict with partner...
SAP is to expand its current product portfolio with the release of a supplier relationship management product (SRM) - putting it in direct competition with its key partner Commerce One. The companies currently jointly sell a procurement product called Enterprise Buyer but sources claim SAP plans to end this agreement and go it alone. Last week, Commerce One announced the release of a strategic sourcing product which acts as a key component to its SRM products. However, the German company will continue to jointly develop and sell MarketSet - its marketplace product.
