SAP, Wipro cook up green IT services
More sustainability and green technology news out of SAP this week: The software company has now hooked up with IT services firm Wipro to create new services that team Wipro's consulting services with some of SAP's environment management and sustainability performance management applications. More details over on Smart Planet, but this is a great example of another evolution of the green IT mindset. This is another indication that many of these issues being bandied about by larger companies are going to become part of standard operating procedure. In particular, the new services will explicitly offer feedback on how different strategies you might be considering already -- virtualization, power management, new design -- will affect your company's overall sustainability position.
