So, one of Microsoft's counterattacks to Apple's successful "Mac vs PC" ad campaign will have Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates come together to push some variation on the slogan "Windows, Not Walls."

I guess it's good to see Microsoft finally responding to Apple's ads and these ads might turn out to be pretty entertaining, but I might not end up being the best judge of the ads since I've never really been much of a Seinfeld fan.

A reader over at Engadget did however manage to put a smile on my face:

"Hi, I'm a former CEO." "And I'm a rich, out-of-work comic who lives off of syndication."

The ads are set to start hitting eyeballs on September 4.

[UPDATE: Several of you have asked me if I think it'll be an issue for Microsoft that in the sitcom of the same name Seinfeld had a Mac on his desk ... uhmmm, dunno, like I said, I wasn't a fan, but some fans seem to have noticed that fact already.]

Thoughts?
