Six awesome photo-related apps for the iPhone

I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but when I bought the iPhone (first-gen model), it really changed my life. Besides all the maps, e-mail capability and other applications, it was great having a camera around. Instead of writing things I saw that I wanted to remember or buy later, I could just snap a photo of it. But there are plenty of other photo-related applications available for the iPhone to make your life simpler, or just make your iPhone experience more fun:

  1. Vihgo Free: If you're into getting artsy with your camera phone pictures, you can start for free with Vihgo Free. Although there are only two functions (cutout and motion blur), it's cheap and easy way to get started with editing photos directly on your phone. (Price: Free)
  2. Puri! Lite: If you stood in Neoprint photobooths in the mid-1990s, then this is the application for you. Puri! Lite lets you tag on photobooth prints, text and frames to your iPhone photos, which you can easily export to Facebook and emails. (Price: Free)
  3. Faces Wild!: Have you ever wondered what your face would look like on the Mona Lisa? Well you can find out in seconds with Faces Wild! Although, this might be fun for awhile, I feel like this app should be free because the novelty will definitely wear out once you've tried all of the scenes. (Price: $0.99)
  4. HDR Camera: While the iPhone camera is better than most camera phones, it's definitely not comparable to most regular digital cameras when it comes to photo quality - especially in lighting. However, if you're desperate to touch up your photo's lighting, either lighter or darker, then you can do so on the spot with HDR Camera.  (Price: $1.99)
  5. Photogene: You don't have to transfer your iPhone photos your computer to edit them anymore. Photogene allows you to crop, sharpen, improve color saturation and multiple more Photoshop/iPhoto features right from your phone. (Price: $2.99)
  6. TalkingPics: If you're interested in using your phone to create a multimedia experience, you can use TalkingPIcs to blend your iPhone pics with sound. You can create slideshows, take notes or whatever. However, based on most reviews, while this is a great app, it's overpriced for its capabilities. There is a Lite version available for free that you should consider trying out first. (Price: $6.99)
