Special Aussie prize in Nokia comp

As part of a double-team with Optus, Nokia today announced that it will be offering two $5000 prizes for Australian developers who enter applications into the global Calling all Innovators competition.

in brief As part of a double-team with Optus, Nokia today announced that it will be offering two $5000 prizes for Australian developers who enter applications into the global Calling all Innovators competition.

The prizes will be given for the top puzzle application and mobile forms application in the entertainment and productivity categories respectively.

These incentives are but the tip of a cash iceberg, entrants have the possibility of winning up to US$30,000 if they beat international contestants. According to Nokia, developers will also get exposure for their applications through mobile and web advertising to promote winning apps in Nokia's Ovi app store.

Other countries in which prizes for inhabitants only have been launched include Russia, Egypt, Turkey, Slovakia, Belgium and Pakistan.

The competition has been running for three years.

The competition submission deadline is 10 June 2010.
