"Parents are now thinking about toys the same way they think about food. They want to know what's in it and where it comes from", says Robert Von Goeben. Van Goeben along with his partner Laurie Hyman run a San Francisco based startup, Green Toys, that produces traditional childhood fare made from recycled milk bottles and other eco-friendly ingredients. While the products run around 20% more than the toys from China consumers know they are getting and are supporting jobs here as the toys are made in SF and not important by cargo ship.
