Dennis Howlett published a great piece on StatusHQ, a microblogging service that has positioned itself to be a more grown-up version of Twitter, that claims it can be used specifically for business communications.
While Howlett points out some of the service's merits (i.e. a less restrictive character limitation of 255 and grouping abilities) he goes on to point out some significant flaws in StatusHQ being leveraged as a business tool (i.e. the ability to delete messages).
I agree with Howlett that current microblogging tools have a way to go before they are ready for enterprise environments, but StatusHQ seems to have a slight leg up on Twitter in achieving that lofty goal.
