Steve Jobs named #2 person shaping the future of IT
Ziff Davis editors from eWEEK, CIO Insight and Baseline have issued their list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in IT and Steve Jobs is number two on the list. To come up with this year’s list, we looked for people who not only had a tangible track record of IT success, but also have far-reaching influence, the ability to effect change and a deep level of engagement in developing emerging technologies.
Ziff Davis editors from eWEEK, CIO Insight and Baseline have issued their list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in IT and Steve Jobs is number two on the list.
To come up with this year’s list, we looked for people who not only had a tangible track record of IT success, but also have far-reaching influence, the ability to effect change and a deep level of engagement in developing emerging technologies.
The last criteria is especially important, as we wanted to highlight the people who are on the leading edge of technology development—those who are shaping not only the products we use and the model by which they are delivered, but also the way in which we work.
The rest of the top five include:
- Larry Ellison – CEO, Oracle
- Steve Jobs – CEO, Apple
- Steve Ballmer – CEO, Microsoft
- Sam Palmisano – Chairman and CEO, IBM
- Marissa Mayer – Vice president, search products and user experience, Google
