SugarSync announces major user interface upgrade in 2.0 beta release

SugarSync is one of my favorite cloud service solutions due to the cross platform nature and free storage capacity. This latest update is a significant improvement over the previous version and I highly recommend you give it a try.

SugarSync announces major upgrade in 2.0 beta release

I have been using SugarSync as a cloud service on my mobile devices for a couple of years thanks in large part to its cross platform support. They just launched their new SugarSync 2.0 beta for the desktop, web, and Android platforms. I have been using it for a couple of weeks on my Galaxy Note II and MacBook Pro and will have a review posted in a couple days. I highly recommend you give it a try. It is free and you get 5GB of storage just for signing up and downloading the app.

SugarSync has always been a very functional service, but not all aspects were intuitive and super user friendly. I was very pleased to see that they took people's feedback and directly addressed all of my usability concerns. The new SugarSync 2.0 is really a fantastic service with a completely redesigned user interface. You still get their award winning capability to sync multiple folders. Improvements in SugarSync 2.0 beta include the following:

  • Drag and drop sharing, including to social networks.
  • New powerful search functionality so the cloud is more user friendly.
  • SugarSync Drive has your SugarSync account appear just like any other connected drive on your Mac or PC.
  • The new photo gallery lets you easily view and share your captured photos.
  • The new mobile app is SO much more user friendly and intuitive.

I am still working on my review of SugarSync 2.0 beta and as you can see online the service has gotten much more user friendly. The SugarSync service still works with all platforms just like before and there will be new SugarSync 2.0 apps coming to other platforms, including the new Windows Phone 8 platform.
