SUN & CyberTouch Asia to provide e-commerce services

Kuala Lumpur, Dec 14 (Asia-Pulse) -- Sun Professional Services has teamed up with CyberTouch Asia to provide e-commerce services for both small and large enterprises.

An agreement was signed today between Sun Microsystems' Sun Professional Services and CyberTouch to mark the long term partnership. Loo Peng Wah, channels director of professional services division for Sun Microsystems Asia South signed on behalf of Sun Professional Services while CyberTouch was represented by its chief executive officer Steve Hsia.

Hsia said the alliance signified a joint business decision to pursue opportunities to provide comprehensive e-commerce solutions and consultancy services to customers in the fast growing South Asia region.

Under the agreement, both companies will share infrastructure, training and support resources. Asked on plans for CyberTouch, Hsia said the company would be investing RM20 million next year in developing staff, customers and e-commerce related business. CyberTouch's e-business is expected to grow by 200 percent for this year, he said.

Serving close to 200 clients, CyberTouch, a Taiwan-based company specialises in building e-business systems and capabilities for its clients to take advantage of the internet as a prime business tool. Its clients in Malaysia include the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), DHL Worldwide Express, Sibexlink, Securities Commission, Telekom Malaysia Bhd and Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
