T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 coming 12 August

The HTC Touch Pro2 (read about my hands-on experiences) is the device I believe has one of the most amazing QWERTY keyboards ever produced on a smartphone. The HTC Touch Pro2 (read about my hands-on experiences) is the device I believe has one of the most amazing QWERTY keyboards ever produced on a smartphone. We all know the device will eventually be coming to all US wireless carriers and it looks like T-Mobile will be first with the just announced 12 August release date. The device will be named the HTC Touch Pro2 (I am kind of surprised T-Mobile did not go with Wing2 or something else) and will be available in a mocha finish. There is currently no pricing information provided, but my guess is we will see it at $299 or $349 with 2-year contract and activation since it is an extremely powerful smartphone.

The T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 will support T-Mobile's 3G network, has a 3.6 inch WVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more. The announcement does not mention support for T-Mobile's UMA network, which is unfortunate for T-Mobile customers. If I was still with T-Mobile I would jump on this device in a second, but now I have to wait for the AT&T model. The keyboards on US carriers for HTC products like this usually vary slightly so I do hope to get some evaluation time with this device to see how the keyboard is configured specifically for T-Mobile.
