The deal extends TDK's boundaries for its PC cards by giving the company access to all GSM based telephony standards. This will put TDK at the forefront of European-wide compatible PC card development.
A range of GSM Nokia-compatible cards are due for release throughout the year to add to its existing Global Class range.
"The link with Nokia gives our customers a flexible data communications capacity with multi-country approvals for landline connections, and wireless connectivity, wherever GSM networks operate," said David Heppe, TDK's operations manager of the European PC Card Division.
