Up and coming electric car company Tesla will release an updated version of its premium Model S sedan, days after it announced the Model 3, according to our sister site CNET.

The publication claims from sources within the company that Tesla will update the visuals of the Model S slightly, bringing the front look closer to the design of the Model 3 and Model X SUV. The announcement could come as soon as this week.

This report gels nicely with a spy shot last week from Electrek, who saw what looks to be an updated Model S behind the gates at Tesla's factory in Fremont factory.

On the interior of the Model S, Tesla is said to add a ventilation option for the front seats like on the Model X and new storage compartments, like pockets in the door.

A Tesla spokesperson said:

We don't comment on rumor or speculation about future releases. Tesla is constantly innovating and adding new features to our vehicles to perpetually improve Tesla vehicles for our existing and future customers. We price our vehicles consistently throughout the world which requires us to adjust pricing to foreign currency exchange rates. We have let customers know that some price changes will take effect in early April. We always encourage those interested in purchasing Model S to place their order so they can start enjoying the many benefits of Model S today.

The rumored updates come as it looks to compete with not only its budget, and stylish Model 3, but other high end vehicles from Mercedes Benz, Audi, and others.
