Neon tube from WikiCommons

Once upon a time, in a rustic pub somewhere deep in the heart of rural Britain, conversations used to start with:

“Did you know that neon is an inert gas?”

and then on to

“Rubbish! It's used to make neon signs, how can it be inert?!”

and then on into the night…

Now it’s just a:

“Oh, I'll look it up on Wikipedia.”

In the same way that SatNav has removed the wonder, delights and discovery of getting lost, the MobileInternet has reduced conversation to mere opinion.
