1.) Babson research study: More than 6.7 million students learning online. The number of students taking at least one online course has now surpassed the 6.7 million mark, while higher education adoption of massive open online courses remains low, according to an online survey by the Babson Survey Research Group.
2.) Online learning grows but not its profits. In August, four months after Daphne Koller and Andrew Ng started the online education company Coursera, its free college courses had drawn in a million users, a faster launching than either Facebook or Twitter.
3.) Essa Academy rolls out tablets in e-learning drive. A Bolton school is investing in online learning by supplying 840 pupils and all of its teachers with their own tablet.
