The perks of free agency with Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless really wants to keep me around. I could get into this free agency thing.

By total coincidence my contract is up just as RIM launches the Storm on its network. First I get the invite to a private sale, which is a touch misleading (click to enlarge).
The invite implies that I show up and can walk out with a Storm (all ZDNet content). That's how I took it. In reality, I show up and give information so I get it on the 21st or sometime next week. It's a preorder.
I'm also getting two free months for renewing.
These offers wouldn't have happened if Verizon wasn't worried about Apple's iPhone and AT&T hurting its churn rates.
