Toshiba Zune details revealed by the FCC

The FCC is a great resource for finding out the details before devices are released and this time they show us an upcoming Microsoft Zune. There should be plenty of choices for consumers this holiday season.

The Microsoft Zune launch appears to be getting closer and closer now that the FCC approved a Toshiba model this week. I was pleased to see that a FM transmitter is included since this makes the device much more usable in a car and is one thing I love about my Delphi MyFi. Integrated WiFi was also confirmed, which was one of the major features the fans have been talking up. The FCC also provided some details on the social networking functions (sharing photos and playlists) performed with the wireless radio. Specs of the FCC approved Toshiba model include a 3-inch display, 30 GB hard drive, 802.11b/g radio, FM tuner, USB 2.0 connection. Since I am pretty loaded with phones and only gave an iPod Shuffle, I may be looking under my Christmas tree for a Zune.

In other Zune news, my fellow Mobius enthusiast, Jason Dunn, just launched a beta site called Zune Thoughts. You will be able to find all the latest news, deals, feedback, and community assistance you need when you pick up your new Zune this fall/winter.
