Two questions about Microsoft's future for you to ponder today:

First, should Microsoft offer consumers a way to spread the cost of the OS over the lifetime of a PC? Perhaps a subscription based mechanism similar to volume licensing? How about a yearly subscription that guaranteed access to the latest OS as well as non-critical updates?

Secondly, currently Microsoft employs both Windows Activation and Windows Genuine Advantage to combat piracy. Should anti-piracy measures be scaled back to just Windows Activation so that end users who are sold systems running non-genuine OSes aren't punished for the fact that Microsoft can't guarantee that Windows Activation is reliable?
