UK firm 's LCD monitors priced to move

Microvitec has introduced a 31cm SVGA LCD monitor that it expects to sell for under £1,300 on the street.

The UK firm's Proteus 31S supports 256,000 colours at 800 x 600 and can connect directly to a standard VGA port without an additional card being required. It weighs just 2.5Kg and screen adjustments can be made through software.

The 26cm Proteus 26V TFT monitor has been reduced to a projected street price of under £800.

Although still pricey compared to CRT displays, LCD screens are winning favour in environments where space is at a premium.
