Pilot scheme a success...

A Scottish council has approved a videoconferencing system after a three-month pilot sped up inquiries at its benefits agency office. Benefit recipients in East Ayrshire Council can now contact staff at the council's two offices, located over 40 miles apart, through a string of video suites situated in towns around the region. Users can hold one to one consultations via video link, or fill in on screen forms, which are then printed, signed and scanned back to the agency office.
