Mike Mazarick, CEO of VirtuDataCenter, and I had a wonderful discussion of the issues organizations face while deploying cloud-based workloads. Mike would pose that many do not fully understand the security and management implications of such a move. He and his team saw an opportunity to take their expertise and experience in managing huge datacenters and create workable, manageable solutions and then help customers that are making the move into cloud computing.

VirtuDataCenter has developed management tools, a scripting engine and a set of processes that encapsulates the expertise of its staff and makes it available to its customers. Since many organizations are seeking ways to reduce their overall IT costs, increase their flexibility while keeping a firm hand on security issues, this should be of interest to many IT decision makers.

I'm seeking the opportunity to speak with one of the company's clients to learn more about how this works in the real world.  I'll let you know more when I've been able to do that.
