A quite alert Member of the Vonage Forum named roscopco has detected what sounds to be some important upgrades to Vonage Talk Alpha.

Before I go over the fixes, a few basics. Vonage Talk is a Vonage-supported, portable SIP client that allows users to make calls as well as use Instant Messaging services from most providers.

Vonage Forum Member roscopco reports several fixes and enhancements in new Vonage Talk release 0.9.3. You can either download this (download link at the bottom of this post) or if you are already running an older rev., wait until your next sign-in. At that time you will be prompted for your Vonage Talk update.

Here are the fixes, as noted by Vonage Forum Member roscopco:

  • Fixed receiving calls on Vonage Talk.
  • Enhanced keypad to accept entries from keyboard.
  • Fixed double ringing in case of early media. This would fix problems like: Double ring when using Vonage Talk to call certain non-Vonage numbers, and the issue in which Vonage Talk keeps ringing for certain numbers even if the call is answered.
  • Added ability to check voice mail by dialing *123.
  • Calling the free international numbers is also in the works.

The latest download is here.
