Voodoo3 hype begins
3Dfx has announced its Voodoo3 graphics boards and kicked off the sort of hype that made its predecessor one of the most successful games products of last year.
CEO of 3Dfx Greg Ballard said of the products: "We are resetting the bar for performance and delivering an exhilarating visual gaming experience."
The Voodoo3 2000 board will retail at around £99.00 and generate up to six million triangles and 286 Megatexels per second at resolutions of up to 2,048 by 1,536 pixels. The higher performing Voodoo3 3000 board will retail at around £149.00. A third board, Voodoo3 3500 has no price tag as yet.
Details of when the boards will be available will be announced soon.
