UK-based ASP NetStore has launched a service to give users of WAP phones access to their corporate email system.

Based on Microsoft's Exchange platform the company says the release makes it the first proper wireless ASP - or WASP - in Europe. NetStore says it can make the service available to existing customers of its hosted Exchange product for just an extra £2.45 per user, per month. Tukun Chatterjee, product manager for the new service, said: "This is for customers interested in taking information with them wherever they go." However, Jeff Maynard, founder and deputy chair of NetStore, admitted that current "crude" WAP devices could limit uptake in the short term. NetStore has 600 customers and is currently the only ASP in the world to have achieved Microsoft Gold Certified status.
