According to Beta News, Yahoo! is testing Wi-Fi access for its Yahoo! Messenger users. The service will enable users to send instant messages and make phone calls from selected Wi-Fi hotspots.
On Addict3D, poster ^A^C^E highlights a survey he apparently has received from Yahoo! during a Yahoo! Messenger download.
As you can see in the screen cap at the top of this post, a yellow "Yahoo! Messenger On the Road (Free)" box screen came up.
The box offers these details:
The free version of Yahoo! Messenger on the road will be available at "more than 30,000 "Yahoo! Messenger-friendly WiFi hot spots around the world."
A Premium On-The-Road version of Yahoo! Messenger will be bundled with Internet access for $7.95 a month, or $2.95 for two hours.
I already have Yahoo! Messenger, but when I tried to download the latest version to determine if I could see the same screen, I just got the plain ol' configuration screens.
