Yahoo on Wednesday rolled out oneSearch 2.0, which features a voice enabled mobile search. However, don't expect wide availability since the service is initially available for "select Blackberry devices."
OneSearch 2.0 at the CTIA wireless show in Las Vegas announced its latest version of its mobile search tool. Among the new features:
- Voice enabled search;
- Easy search availability on idle screens;
- More content returned on each search by allowing publishers to add data into oneSearch beginning this quarter;
- And utilization of semantic Web techniques.
Yahoo's oneSearch 2.0 launch is part of the company's effort to be the leader in mobile search. Marco Boerries, executive vice president of Connected Life at Yahoo, pitched the mobile vision, which is essentially to become a starting point that's indispensable.
