Your one day to buy a $100 PC

In last month's blog "Is the $100 PC possible?" I mentioned that such a thing does exist one day out of the year and that happens to be tomorrow the day after Thanksgiving.  Before I tell you where to get it, I must warn you that these things run out fast and there are actually people camped outside the store over night to get deals like this.  I'm not suggesting that you camp out on Thanksgiving night, but it would probably be a good idea to show up early if you plan on getting some deals.  Just please be careful not to get trampled or trample anyone else.

This $100 PC (no rebates needed) has an AMD Sempron 2400+, a 40 GB Hard Drive, CD-ROM, 10/100 Ethernet, and Linspire 5.0 Linux.  While the specifications are less than average, this is probably much faster than most 3 year old corporate PCs.  It would probably also make a nice little standalone server.  If you're trying to use this as a Workstation, there are plenty of sub-hundred dollar CRT monitors or sub-$200 19" LCD monitors on sale.  If you're upgrading, just keep your existing monitor.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!
