Online giant Amazon.com is set to enter a strategic alliance with Wal-Mart.
According to reports in the Sunday Times, Amazon's founder and CEO Jeff Bezos and Lee Scott, CEO of Walmart, are working on a deal that could be completed in less than six months. A possible alliance could see Amazon become Wal-Mart's ecommerce supplier, with Wal-Mart benefiting from the e-tailer's online experience. The Sunday Times claimed that Amazon would gain a presence in Wal-Mart's 4,500 stores, a possible cash injection and a cut of the sales it makes through Wal-Mart.
