Global Internet gets thumbs up from Microsoft

UK Internet provider Global Internet, which claims over 13,000 subscribers, has signed an agreement with Microsoft to offer Internet access with the next version of Windows 95.

The company will be one of a number of providers who will be included in a folder on the desktop of the next version of Windows, due next year. Users will simply have to click on a Global Internet icon to install the service.

As part of the deal, Global Internet will also distribute Microsoft's Internet Explorer 3.0 as part of its package.

Earlier this year Global Internet merged with two other companies to form the Internet Technology Group, an AIM (Alternative Investment Market) listed company. The company's stock rose on news of the deal yesterday.
