Teeny tiny images to appear next to search results...

Google has been trialling a feature that displays a thumbnail of web pages next to search results. The highly popular search engine has been experimenting with the pages with test groups, US wires report. The company has yet to decide whether to rollout the feature. However, there are problems with the scheme. The adding of a number of thumbnails to pages cause them load slower. Google has previously been lauded for its clean design and speed. Also, web pages are difficult to discern when they're reduced to thumbnail size. Google was launched in 1998 and quickly grew to be one of the web's most popular search engines. The company claims to support over 10 million web searches everyday and boasts annual revenues in excess of $50m. Google last week announced it was considering charging users for specialised searches.
