Logica has reached 100 percent market share in Taiwan after deploying a Telepath SMSC (Short Message Service Center) for Mobitai Communications to enhance its capacity in offering value-added services (VAS).

Mobitai Communications, an operator that serves the central region of Taiwan, has been offering GSM900 service since 1997 when the Taiwan government liberalized the telecommunications market and awarded six new private licenses.

The system migration to Telepath SMSC was smooth for Mobitai with minimal interruption to their operations. Cost involved in this project is reduced because Logica's system can inter-work seamlessly with the existing billing system of the operator.

In less than three months, Logica tailored an SMSC for Mobitai to commercially launch the service.

SMS traffic for Mobitai has grown by 60 percent soon after the launch of the service and the operator foresees its investment could be fully recouped this year.
